About This Site

I am a Virginia attorney with an eclectic range of interests. In years past I have blogged about politics, religion, and all those things that make impolite dinner conversation.  I have relaunched this site with an eye toward writing about simpler things.  I have a diverse set of interests, and this page reflects that. Recently, I have focused my writing on legal education and legal writing, and so you will probably find a significant amount of discussion of those subjects.

About Me

I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1983.  My father and mother both served in the Navy, so I moved around a lot.  I have lived in lots of different places and seen a fair amount of the world, but I would always like to see more.  I have now settled in Lynchburg, Virginia with my wonderful wife, Allison.  I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2005 with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics.  I received my law degree from Liberty University School of Law in 2010, and passed the Virginia bar later that year.  I have worked as a computer programmer, as a business consultant, as a technical adviser in a patent firm, and as a part-time college instructor.  I have now settled in on the law, which I absolutely love, and am happily employed as a judicial law clerk at the Court of Appeals of Virginia.  When I conclude my clerkship in 2012, I would like to start my own law firm, and I have other business ventures I would like to begin soon.  I would also love to teach a law school class or two.  I enjoy writing about the law and legal education.  As you can see on my publications page, I have one published law review article and expect to publish a book in the fall of 2011.
